This means that, like all old-school RPG, if you ever played one, there are a lot of character options, epic storyline and insurmountable number of quests to complete. The main character of the game, Deathspank, is one of your typical brawny action heroes with a hefty dose of life’s irony. If you are a hardcore RPG player, don’t expect much in the way of the character development or the storyline, but do expect more on its witty dialogue. The game is typically fun as an RPG game and is solidly executed and laid with colorful graphics.

5. Torchlight

This RPG game is arguably the best action packed-RPG that doesn’t have any “Diablo” word in its title. In fact, it is even considered as a much purer distillation of the game concept than of the Blizzard’s titan. The story is much the same as Diablo where there is a pretty nasty bad guy that players must defeat in order to stop an apocalyptic event from unfolding. Now how about the gameplay? Freakishly awesome! It’s not just the awesome attack powers and the actions packed combat that makes this RPG game a blast to play, but also the excellent hero customization and the wide variety of villains players have to face and vanquish. While the game seems to start off easy, the game can become challenging as it progresses along to the end.

4. Neverwinter Nights 2

This RPG is one of the least critically acclaimed game series that have ever been produced by Bioware. But any so-and-so game from Bioware is actually better that most games out there, so the Neverwinter Nights 2 is definitely worth the look. The game play of Neverwinter Nights 2 is best described as a computerized dungeons-and-dragons type, where the D&D rule is utilized, however, unlike many other games, this RPG game lacks the strategic feel. Instead, it leans more towards action-RPG , although you still have to form a party and pay much attention to the abilities of every NPC that can benefit your team.

3. Dragon Age: Origins

The Dragon Age Origins is essentially one of the best old-school RPG types built with modern production values and graphics. The combat system replicates excellent pause-based conflicts found in other games from old Infinity Engine RPG games like the Icewind Dale and Baldur’s Gate. For players who enjoy deep, cerebral encounters, they will surely find this game an excellent break from the fast paced action-RPG. This game is from Bioware, so players can expect that the storyline is one of the game’s strong points. The story is not all that unique but the details are very string. The NPC’s that can join you along the way are also awesome and every village and places you have to visit as part of the story have their own unique character.

2. The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut

This RPG game seemed to pop-out of nowhere when it was first released in 2007. The developer of the game was not famously known and the whole franchise was new. Despite the odds, The Witcher went on to win quite a number of RPG of the year awards. The secret of the game’s success was the combination of the challenging combat, strong main character and the moral choices that truly have a huge impact on the story. This great game truly deserves the attention it gets.

1. World Of WarCraft

Perhaps, no hard-core and soft RPG players left that have not heard about this game and the fact that it runs on Mac. However, there a lot of players who haven’t considered trying this game yet. Well, if you haven’t, then you should. The vast popularity of the game is not without a reason and it’s so much easier to jump into now than it was before thanks to the brief free trial. While this game is no longer the leader in some areas, the vast volume of content is simply astounding and the simple yet very entertaining graphics aren’t too harsh on the capacity of the MacBook. Any player can start playing this game after purchasing the Battle Chest, which includes the first expansion for a fair price.

Making Monkeys is a fun and addicting RPG platform adventure where you have to help a cute little monkey (that looks like a piece of toast) reach his beloved cup of coffee in each level. The coffee cup is often out of reach – but that’s no problem for this little guy – he can pick up a special Clone Gun along the way in order to duplicate himself a number of times if needed! This gives him an even better chance of reaching his cherished cup of coffee. Ready to help him do it? It’s time to wake up, smell the coffee, and get jumping!

This challenging and unusual platform puzzle game starts off as any other – with a cute character trying to get to a high ledge or point. You have to think of a strategy that will help you to reach the coffee cup. Once the Clone Gun is introduced into the game levels, the fun really starts. You’ll need both nifty fingers and a steady hand to control what can sometimes be over a dozen of the tiny animals on the screen at a time. Your quick reactions will also be tested, as there are treacherous jumps over spikes, and quick-fire leaps to be made. Quit monkeying around – there’s a rewarding cup of coffee to be earned on each level of this tricky problem solving activity! Good luck with your cool moves and jumps!

How to Play: You play the role of the adorable, square-shaped monkey (yes, he doesn’t look like your ordinary, every day monkey!) Use the WASD Keys on your computer keyboard to control the little guy. W = Jump; A and D = Move around. Hold down W for a higher jump. Your goal in each of the 14 increasingly difficult levels is to get the coffee cup that is usually on a high ledge on the opposite side of the game screen. Simply touching it progresses you to the next level. In the third level, the Clone Gun is introduced. Hit Spacebar or Shift when standing next to or on top of the gun to pick it up. Aim using your mouse and Left Click to fire. Another little monkey pops out!

Use your clones to reach higher ledges. For example, the original monkey can jump high into the air, and fire a new Clone toward the high ledge. It doesn’t matter which monkey (original or Clone) touches the coffee cup to complete the level. You can see how many Clones are available from the gun on each level in the top left corner of the game screen. If you get stuck, or all of the monkeys have hit off spikes and have been eliminated, hit the R Key to restart the level. Alternatively, you can click on the circular arrow in the top right corner.
